With only six upper classmen, the Lady Eagle soccer team is very young this season. Veteran coach John Schumacher is very pleased with the turnout this season, with 35 girls so far coming out for soccer. “I hope to get a few more,” he said.

The seventh annual Westport Island Shore Run 10K and 3.5 mile Fun Run is on Sun., Aug. 28. The race starts and finishes at the Town Hall and benefits the Westport Island Volunteer Fire Department.
