Medomak Valley boys soccer team defeated Erskine Academy 3-1 in their KVAC opener on Sept. 6 in Waldoboro. Will Smith scored two goals and Zach Cheesman one. Brandon Starr picked up an assist. The Eagles scored their goal on a first half penalty kick taken by Sam York.

Hall-Dale defeated Wiscasset 6-0 in their MVC opener on Sept. 5 in the Wolverines den. Wiscasset held the Bulldogs scoreless for nearly 37 minutes, before Sarah Benner scored to give Hall-Dale a 1-0 lead at the half. Lily Souza made 19 first half saves to keep the Wolverines in the game early.

Lincoln Academy girls soccer team opened their KVAC season with a 4-1 win over Gardiner in the Eagles nest on Sept. 5.

On the third Tuesday of June, July, and August, a team of volunteers with Special Surfers – including a group from the CLC YMCA in Damariscotta – brings hundreds of children and adults with special needs to Gooch’s Beach in Kennebunk to surf.

Mark Zaccadelli, of Bristol, broke the Revolution Powerlifting Syndicate world record for the bench press in the open (any age) division, 165-pound weight class, Saturday, July 27 during the 2019 RPS Maine State Powerlifting Championships at the OA Performance Center in Saco.

Nick MacPhee, of Walpole, earned the Best Lifter Award at the 2019 RPS Maine State Powerlifting Championships at the OA Performance Center in Saco on Saturday, July 27. MacPhee won all three events in the 220-pound weight division of the open men’s class.

Medomak Valley 11&12 Little League softball all-stars defeated 5-Town 15-1 on June 29 to win the District 2 championship and advance to the State tournament. Kytana Williamson collected the win (8K, 4H, 1R, 2B).
