Scholarships Available for Nobleboro Residents

The Nobleboro Historical Society will again offer $1,000 scholarships for Nobleboro residents and Nobleboro Historical Society members and their families. The scholarship and education committee selects one to three individuals to receive the scholarship.

Beal House, Coastal Rivers Join Forces To Support Environmental Initiatives

Earth Day holds special significance for Sarah Levangie, owner of Beal House (formerly Weatherbird), as it coincides with her birthday and reflects her deep commitment to environmental stewardship. In light of Beal House’s recent rebrand, Levangie perceived an opportunity to collaborate with Coastal Rivers Conservation Trust to support local conservation efforts and engage the community.

As of this day, April 15, we have had The Brodster two years. It is hard to imagine how fast this time has flown by. Two years ago, this tornado of a dog came into our lives. I recall when he saw my “hooman” sister’s cat Nathan Jr. If you have ever seen National Lampoon’s “Christmas Vacation;” the scene where the Rottweiler Snots chases the squirrel throughout the house, across the dining room table. That was us!

Damariscotta’s Michaud Hosts Area Pinewood Derby

The annual Scouting district Pinewood Derby races were held at the Vassalboro Community School where Cubs raced blocks of wood they carved and decorated into racecars down a long metal track. Some garnered trophies for speed. Others won accolades for design. All were winners, however, because spending time working on the car with a parent was the best prize of all.
