We are almost through the month of August. As I sit here at my desk, the sun is shining brightly and the sky is full of white fluffy clouds and the hummingbird feeder has a large number of hummingbirds coming and going. I have now filled their feeder 16 times with sweet sugar water.

Shane Matthew Sykes, 33, of Warren, died after a brief illness on Aug. 9, 2023 at Pen Bay Medical Center. He was born in Bangor on June 16, 1990 to Gerald (Roy) and Cynthia (Hagar) Sykes. He was a lifetime resident of the Midcoast. Wherever he lived, he always called Bristol his home.
Betty Ann Ablon May 28, 1938 - Aug. 24, 2023
Bebe Ablon, born Betty Ann Epstein on May 28, 1938, in Dorchester, Mass., passed away peacefully on Aug. 24, 2023, at the age of 85, in Dallas, Texas. She was a vivacious, playful, tenacious, and progressive woman who will be deeply missed by the professional, social, and spiritual communities to which she contributed and belonged.
