Bipartisan Soup and Chili Lunch Returns For Fourth Year
Nobleboro Republicans and Democrats are once again joining forces to put on their bipartisan soup and chili lunch to raise funds for fuel assistance. The lunch event will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 7 at the First Baptist Church of Nobleboro.

Richard “Red” Darby Feld Sr. passed away peacefully on Jan. 7, 2026 at Togus Springs Hospice, Togus VA Medical Center, after a brief illness. Red was born on Jan. 26, 1938 to Ruth Darby and Hermann H. Feld in Springfield, Mass. He spent his early years in the Springfield area, graduating from Technical High School and then enlisting in the United States Coast Guard. Red was stationed in Portland, which began his lifelong love of Maine.

After a long and fulfilling life, Kathryn T. McLoon Crowley passed away at the age of 100 years on Jan. 4, 2026, under the loving care of The Cedars Lunder Care Unit in Portland. Kathryn was born on June 13, 1925 in Damariscotta to Charles A. and Catherine T. (McCaughey McKie) McLoon. She was the third youngest of 10 children.
CTL Teacher To Publish Children’s Book Anthology
The Center for Teaching and Learning in Edgecomb is proud to announce that Corbin Lichtinger, teacher of first and second grades, is receiving recognition as an artist and storyteller. His “Alligators Anthology” has been purchased by Holiday House/Neal Porter Books and will be published in the fall of 2027.
