Medomak Valley Players Present ‘Peter Pan’
The Medomak Valley Players group proudly presents “Peter Pan” for its fall musical offering. This enchanting tale will be staged Thursday-Saturday, Nov. 9-11 and Friday and Saturday, Nov. 17 and 18 at 7 p.m., and Sundays, Nov. 12 and 19 at 2 p.m.
Springs of Living Water in Wiscasset
On Sunday, Oct. 29, members of the public are welcomed to the Wiscasset Church of the Nazarene, at 255 Gardiner Road in Wiscasset, to experience the gospel music and songs by the Springs of Living Water. The group’s music is a medley of old-time gospel, country and western, and a twist of contemporary. The group members sing and use many instruments, including banjo, violin, mandolin, guitar, and accordion.

On Monday, October 16, Marian Armstrong Miller Clark peacefully shed her mortal coil. She was predeceased by her parents, her sister, her husband, and numerous pets.

Samoset Fish & Game Announces Top Shot Winners in Shotgun Contest
The Samoset Fish & Game Club hosted a shotgun competition on Sunday, Oct. 22. The weather was excellent and there were lots of crack shots. Junior shooter Jayson Benner attended for the first time and was awarded a turkey for his efforts as a competitor, and especially for his impressive shotgun safety and handling skills. He plans to compete again in the future. Many attendees and competitors are looking forward the rifle shoot on Sunday, Oct. 29.
Harbor Room Launches Making Mondays Matter
On Monday, Nov. 6, The Harbor Room in New Harbor will launch its new monthly fundraising event called Making Mondays Matter. On the first Monday of each month, The Harbor Room will donate 10 percent of its lunch and dinner sales to a preselected local nonprofit organization. New Hope for Women will be the beneficiary for November, and December will benefit The Carpenter’s Boat Shop.
Villages of Light Will Spark One’s Spirit, Make Holidays Bright
On Saturday, Nov. 25, the inaugural Villages of Lights celebration will light up the Twin Villages of Damariscotta and Newcastle just in time for the holidays. Whiffenpoofs A Cappella Group to Perform Nov. 12
The Yale Whiffenpoofs, the oldest and most prestigious a cappella group in the U.S., will perform twice in Maine over Veterans Day weekend. The first performance will take place at STAGES Youth Theater in Portland at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 10. The second will take place on Sunday, Nov. 12 at 4 p.m. at the Second Congregational Church in Newcastle. The 2017-2018 Whiffenpoofs group features Eli Daiute, who graduated from Lincoln Academy in Newcastle in 2014.
