Benefit Dinner for Wheelchair Van for Local Volunteer
Members of the public are encouraged to come to the Hahn Community Center, at 25 Main St. in Friendship, on Friday, Nov. 17 at 5 p.m. for a benefit spaghetti dinner to raise money toward the purchase of a wheelchair-accessible van for Savannah Robinson, of Friendship. Robinson is a volunteer at Mobius Inc. in Damariscotta.
LA Booster Auction
The annual LA Booster auction will be held on Saturday, Nov. 4 in the Lincoln Academy Alumni Dining Commons. A silent auction will begin at 4 p.m. and the live auction, under the direction of John Bottero, will begin at 5 p.m.
Samoset Fish & Game Club Names Oct. 15 Top Shots
The Samoset Fish & Game Club in Bristol hosted a shotgun competition and an archery competition on Oct. 15. Due to weather conditions, the turnout of competitors was less than last year. However, there were enough in attendance for good competition rounds. Competitors brought their own shotgun; the club supplied the ammunition.

Help Needed Finding Stink Bugs
Entomologists at the Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry are seeking public assistance locating the brown marmorated stink bug. Recent posts to the DACF’s Maine Bug Watch Facebook page have state officials interested in the prevalence of the brown marmorated stink bug in Maine. The bug is a major agricultural pest in other states and has caused severe economic damage to a number of crops in the mid-Atlantic states.
