Boothbay Girls Hold Off Oak Hill On Senior Night Boothbay 41 – Oak Hill 40
The Boothbay girls basketball team clung to a slim lead down the stretch and eeked out a 41-40 win over Oak Hill on Thursday, Jan. 23 in Boothbay. The Seahawks led by as much eight points toward the end of the third quarter before the Raiders came storming back to create an exciting finish in front of a big crowd on senior night. Tatum French scored 24 points to lead the Seahawks, including the final six of the game for Boothbay. She scored on a short jump shot in traffic to reestablish the Seahawks lead 39-37, and on the next possession was fouled on a 3-point shot and made two out of three free throws to give the Seahawks a 41-37 advantage. French fouled out with 25 seconds remaining, but the Seahawks defense was able to hold off the Raiders the rest of the way.
Morse Surges Past Wiscasset Boys Morse 54 - Wiscasset 41
The Wiscasset boys basketball team led 24-20 at halftime during a rare matchup between Class D and Class B schools but could not hold on as Morse rallied to a 54-41 victory on Wednesday, Jan. 22 in Bath. The Shipbuilders improved to 4-9 with the comeback win, while competing in Class B South. Wiscasset, a significantly smaller school, dropped to 7-3 on the season playing in Class D South. The game consisted of alternating scoring runs, with Morse having the biggest spree outscoring Wiscasset 22-1 in a stunning stretch during the third and fourth quarters that put the game out of reach. Wiscasset senior guard Jevar Garricks posted 13 of his game-high 18 points during the first two quarters as the Wolverines made a bid for an upset win.

The Wiscasset boys basketball team erased an eleven point halftime deficit but lost on a foul shot with four seconds remaining in a 65-64 loss to the Bobcats on Monday, Jan. 6 in Richmond. Landin Shirey nailed a 3-pointer for the Wolverines with 30 seconds remaining to tie the match 64-64. Zaden Steele was fouled and made one of two free throws for the Bobcats with 4.6 seconds left on the clock. Shirey led the Wolverines with 23 points in the match, including a trio of 3-pointers.
Medomak Boys Blow Away Windjammers Medomak Valley 62 – Camden Hills 50
The undefeated Medomak Valley boys basketball team dominated Camden Hills 62-50 in front of a big, noisy crowd on Saturday, Jan. 4 in Rockport. The game was not as close as the final score might indicate, as the Panthers opened up a twenty-one point lead midway through the third quarter and then leaned on their bench depth to coast to an easy win. With the victory over the Class A Windjammers, the Panthers improved to 8-0 and maintained second place in the Heal Points standings for Class B South behind top-ranked York (9-0).
Panthers Boys Top Spruce Mountain in Battle of Unbeatens Medomak Valley 55 - Spruce Mountain 43
The Medomak Valley boys basketball team beat Spruce Mountain 55-43 in a battle between undefeated Class B South teams on Thursday, Jan. 2 in Waldoboro. Kristian Schumann notched 18 points, including four 3-pointers, to lead all scorers in the game. Gabe Lash scored 17 points, and led the Panthers with seven rebounds. The Panthers improved their regular season record to 7-0 with the win and are now in second place behind York (8-0) in the Heal Points standings in Class B South.
Medomak Girls Lose Steam in Second Half in Loss to Mt. Ararat Mt. Ararat 51 – Medomak Valley 42
Mt Ararat wore out the Medomak Valley girls basketball team during a 51-42 win over the Panthers on Monday, Dec. 30 in Topsham. Medomak’s Kytana Williamson scored 17 of her game-high 20 points in the first half as the Panthers stuck close to the Eagles, who led 26-25 heading into the halftime break. Mt. Ararat went on a 12-1 run to start the third quarter to put the game out of reach, and then coasted to the finish.
King Has Career-Best Game to Boost Wolverines Past Bucks Wiscasset 68 - Buckfield 61
The Wiscasset boys basketball team earned a 68-61 victory over Buckfield on Monday, Dec. 30 in Wiscasset. Sophomore Julien King scored a career-high 19 points to boost the Wolverines to the victory. “That was the best game that King has played over the past two years,” said Wolverines head coach Jamey Roy. “Our team keeps improving.”

Fouls Plague Panthers Girls in Win Over Eagles Medomak Valley 46 - Lincoln Academy 36
The Lincoln Academy girls got off to a fast start against Medomak Valley but could not hold on as the Panthers surged to a 46-36 win on Tuesday, Dec. 17 in Waldoboro. After rallying to take the lead in the second half, the Panthers were able to secure the victory despite foul trouble that led to 26 foul shots by the Eagles in the second half.
Kytana Williamson led the Panthers with 19 points and Claudia Feeley scored nine. Mariam DeLisle led the Eagles with 13 points, 11 rebounds, nine steals, three assists and one block. Medomak Valley improved to 2-1 on the season, while Lincoln Academy suffered their first loss of the season and slipped to 3-1.
Panthers Sink Mariners in Boys Basketball Rivalry Medomak Valley 66 - Oceanside 44
The Medomak Valley boys basketball team thrashed Oceanside 66-44 on Tuesday, Dec. 10 in Waldoboro. Continuous dedication to team defense was the key to the victory, as the Panthers held Oceanside’s historically potent offense to just 13 points in the first half.
Coach DePatsy’s nephew, Rocco DePatsy, seemed to enjoy his first time playing in the rivalry against Oceanside, racking up 18 points to join teammate Kristian Schumann as the leading scorers in the game. The Panthers improved to 2-0 on the season, while Oceanside dropped to 1-1.
