For this year’s ABC, Attic, Basement, Closet Rummage Sale, donors can add a “D” for “declutter” as they sort out what to donate to the event sponsored by the Round Pond Schoolhouse Association.

Sasanoa Brewing, on beautiful Westport Island, opens its outdoor tasting room on Friday, May 3 from 1-6 p.m. The tasting room will be open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for the season.

All are invited to the Waldoborough Historical Society Museum on Sunday May 5 at 1 p.m. to hear former staff from the school share their memories of working there.

The Waldoboro Woman’s Club Scholarship Committee is again offering $1,500 scholarships for graduating high school students in the Lincoln County area. This scholarship program is made possible by the club’s fundraising events throughout the year, including its largest fundraising event, the Whale of a Sale held in June.

The annual Scouting district Pinewood Derby races were held at the Vassalboro Community School where Cubs raced blocks of wood they carved and decorated into racecars down a long metal track. Some garnered trophies for speed. Others won accolades for design. All were winners, however, because spending time working on the car with a parent was the best prize of all.

For those that pass by it, the overgrown weeds and bushes hid what once was the old corner garden near the river and tucked into the back lawn of St. Andrew’s Church in Newcastle.
