The Carey Gallery at Skidompha Public Library in Damariscotta presents the “Snow Fence Paintings” show, featuring work by Katharina Keoughan and Joy Vaughan, through the month of January. Vaughan and Keoughan are both well known in the area as teachers and painters.

The current art show on the walls of the two floors of the Damariscotta River Grill features the work of three talented female artists, Lee Rowan, Joy Linder, and the late East Boothbay oil painter and watercolorist Lina Burley

Douglas Smith, of Rockland, will be exhibiting his paintings in the Hall Gallery at LincolnHealth — Miles Campus in Damariscotta from Sunday, Jan. 8 through Friday, Feb. 10, 2017.

Mobius Inc. in Damariscotta will hold an art show featuring a variety of artwork created by individuals enrolled in the organization’s Creative Expressions program.

The Medomak Arts Project, a local arts nonprofit organization located at 9 Friendship St. in Waldoboro, has several interesting events planned for the month of December. On the community calendar is a watercolor paint night, a jazz concert brunch, a potluck dinner, and a community caroling gathering.

A profusion of eye-catching artwork by a who’s who of local artists is what’s on tap at “The Little Holiday Show,” on the walls and shelves and inside the glass cabinets at the Kefauver Studio & Gallery in Damariscotta through Friday, Dec. 23.

To celebrate a truly wonderful season, Tidemark Gallery, located at 902 Main St. in Waldoboro, will host a turning-of-the-year reception on Saturday, Dec. 17, from 5-7 p.m. Art lovers and neighbors are invited to enjoy the work of several artists who are new to Tidemark Gallery, along with new work by old friends.

The current Pemaquid Studio Painters art exhibition on the walls of The Carey Gallery, located inside the rear entrance of Skidompha Public Library in Damariscotta, features the artwork of four women – Barbara Applegate, Barbara Klein, Nancy O’Brien MacKinnon, and Liliana Thelander. Thelander, Klein, and Applegate are oil painters; MacKinnon paints in acrylics.

Just in time for the holidays, a new show will open at the Damariscotta River Grill, at 155 Main St. in Damariscotta, on Tuesday, Dec. 6 showcasing New England artists Lina Burley, Joy Linder, and Lee Rowan.

On Sunday, Dec. 4, the River Company will present two afternoon shows of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol.” The theater company’s version of the quintessential holiday show, however, will be a musical, using a script by Damariscotta writer Eleanor Cade Busby, according to director Margo O’Leary. All proceeds from the show will benefit the local Meals on Wheels program.

Tucked away in River Arts gallery’s prestigious West Gallery, a most unique exhibit is hiding in plain sight. Three of Midcoast Maine’s finest artists have combined their work to create this most delightful and varied showcase, which will be on display from Friday, Nov. 18 through Tuesday, Dec. 13.

“A Sense of Place/El Sentido del Lugar” is the collaborative cross-cultural art exhibit that has graced the walls of both floors of Legacy Properties Sotheby’s International Realty in Damariscotta since mid-September.
