Carole Hanson, 76, died peacefully at home in Bremen on Sept. 9, following a short, unexpected illness, and surrounded by her loving family.

Mary Lee Benner Melvin, 80, of Waldoboro, passed away peacefully at her home on Sept. 6, 2024. She was born to Myron R. Benner and Virginia M. Beckett Benner Quimby in Waldoboro, June 1944.

In the early morning hours of Aug. 19, John Burgess Guptill, age 43, began his final journey around the sun after an accident. As he embarked on this new adventure, we are left uncertain of where it will take him or when we might see him again. He departed without a formal goodbye, ready to make a difference in some wondrous, unknown place. True to his adventurous spirit, John traveled light, carrying only foreign exchange, his language skills, and wearing his signature bandana.

Dana Hammond, 79, of Somerville, passed away on Sept. 8, 2024. He was born June 24, 1945, to Irvin and Reta Hammond.

Lydia “Diane” Smith Grant, a native of Bath and longtime resident of Baton Rouge, La., passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2024, at the age of 97.

Virginia D. Overlock, 89, of Warren, died Sept. 5, 2024 at the Sussman House in Rockport surrounded by her family. Virginia was born May 26, 1935 in Warren, to Maurice Davis and Bernice Harding Davis. Virginia grew up in Warren and graduated from Warren High School in the class of 1953.

Warren Henry Page, 91, a wonderful man, received his wings on Sept. 4, 2024 at his home in Boothbay. Warren was born Jan. 8, 1933 on Swan’s Island, to Harold Henry Page and Cora Babbage Staples Page. Warren was one of eight children, Virginia, Harold, Shirleyann, Leon, Delephine, Lucille, and Mildred.

Janet Noella (Martin) Hatch, 86, of Bremen, passed away peacefully at home, on the morning of Friday, Sept. 6, 2024. She was surrounded by her loving family and goldendoodle, Lilly.

It is with a heavy heart that the family announces the unexpected passing of a great man, Zachery Dean Gilbert, as the result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. Zach was born on June 20, 1995, to James Gilbert and Suzanne Poland Gilbert, in Damariscotta. He attended Great Salt Bay Community School and was a 2013 graduate of Lincoln Academy before joining the Marines.

Helen M. Lewis, 95, died Sept. 2, 2024 at St. Andrews Village in Boothbay Harbor with her family by her side. Helen was born Aug. 23, 1929 in Mystic, Conn., to Anton Bartik and Ida McInnis Bartik. She moved to Boothbay Harbor at a young age and attended local schools. She graduated from Boothbay Harbor High School in the class of 1947.

A celebration of life for Robert Paul Wylie will be held on Friday, Sept. 13 at 6 p.m. at Duck Puddle Campground’s barn in Nobleboro. He is survived by his wife, Reba Wylie; daughters, Karri Heindl (Dan), Paula Schumann (Jeff); grandchildren, Melissa Moore, Dustin Schumann, Ryan Schumann, Nathaniel Sillery; 10 great-grand children; brother, Donald Wylie; and sisters, Diana Dube and Elain Farrington.

Carol Anne (Olson) Sevigny, 82, of Mechanic Falls, passed away peacefully on Aug. 31, 2024 at the Hospice House in Auburn with her family by her side.

Steven Wayne Grund, 78, of Bristol, passed away on Aug. 27, 2024.
