Sherburne Prescott de Garmo, of Boothbay, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2023 at Maine Medical Center. He was a renaissance man of many talents, a woodworker, artist, mechanic, and sculptor who enjoyed creating beautiful and functional pieces for his home.

Elise Isabel Andersen, lifelong resident of Boothbay, died unexpectedly at her home May 4. She was 68. Elise was born Feb. 19, 1955 at St. Andrews Hospital in Boothbay Harbor, the fourth of six children born to Weston and Brenda Andersen, the pioneering Maine craftspeople who founded Andersen Design and Studio.

Eugene F. Winchenbach, 80, passed away at home in Waldoboro on May 21, 2023 with his family by his side, after a long battle with cancer. Eugene was born Sept. 16, 1942 in Waldoboro to Ralph and Beatrice Winchenbach and was the oldest of 14 children.

Anne “Annabelle” Baldwin of Tucson, Ariz. and formerly of Newcastle, died peacefully on May 5, surrounded by her family. She was 88 years old. Annabelle was a librarian, writer, storyteller, and a gentle, wistful, brave soul.

On the morning of May 18, Mary Elizabeth Anderson died peacefully in her sleep after a year-long decline in health. She was 82. Mary was born on March 24, 1941 in San Diego, Calif., to parents Julia and John Horvath, of Colorado, while John was serving in World War II.

Elizabeth “Betty” Anne Reilly, aged 91, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2023 at St. Andrews Village in Boothbay Harbor, following a long battle with dementia/Alzheimer’s.

David Scott Gilbert, 63, of Damariscotta, passed away peacefully on the afternoon of Saturday, May 27, 2023. Born on Feb. 28, 1960, he was the son of Georgia Brewer, of Newcastle, and Rowland Gilbert Sr., of Damariscotta.

This is not an ordinary obituary, because Tracy was not an ordinary person. She was extraordinary. Born Tracy Ann Lindemann on May 18, 1963, she entered this world in the Year of the Rabbit. People born in the Rabbit year are said to be gentle, kind, happy, and creative, with a peaceful, hopeful energy. This was Tracy. Little more needs to be said, but for the sake of history and context, the following is included.

Shirley McDowell, 86, of Scarborough, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 22, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.

A celebration of life for Arthur Poland, who passed away on January 7, 2023, will be held from 1-4 p.m., on Saturday, June 10 at the Wawenock Golf Club in Walpole. Friends and family are all welcome to attend.

Kenneth C. Roever, 79, of Whitefield, passed away peacefully at home on May 21, 2023, with his beloved wife by his side following a period of declining health.
