Charles William Misner – eminent astro-physicist, husband of Susanne Elisabeth Kemp, father of four, and seasonal resident of South Bristol – passed away six weeks after his 91st birthday in Kensington, Md.

Leslie Loraine DuPell (née Lakin) passed away peacefully with family members by her side on July 27, 2023. She was 81.

On Sunday, July 30, 2023, Durwood C. Lewis passed away at age 81.

Larry D. Ross, born on March 5, 1959, in Lincoln County, unexpectedly passed away doing what he enjoyed doing, hiking, on Monday, July 24, 2023 at the age of 64 years old. He was the son of the late George and Nathalie Achorn Ross.

Anna Bickford, 79, of Waldoboro, passed away on July 25, 2023 at Cove’s Edge Nursing Home.

Jane Webster Leavitt, 90, of Nobleboro, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2023, at the LincolnHealth Miles Campus, alongside her loving family. Jane was born on Jan. 21, 1933, in Hartford, Conn., the daughter of Fred and Ruth Webster.

Frances W. Williamson, of Jefferson, passed into rest on July 20 at the age of 105. She was born in Morrill on April 8, 1918, the daughter of Eva and Roland Woodbury. She graduated from Crosby High School in Belfast and the Eastern Beauty and Barber School in Bangor. On June 22, 1941, she married Donald O. Johnston. They purchased an apple orchard in Jefferson and soon after had their only child, Donald B. Johnston. Fran operated Lakeview Orchards and the apple stand for 33 years, as well as a beauty shop in her home for 31 years. After her husband’s death in 1971, Fran married Andrew W. Williamson II, of Jefferson, in 1973. With this marriage, Fran gained a second family.

Frederic Arnold Pease Jr. died peacefully on July 11, 2023, in Brunswick.

Richard “Dick” House, 84, sadly passed away on June 23 in San Diego, Calif. after a tough battle with pneumonia. Born in 1939, Richard was raised in South Bristol and was the youngest of five siblings.

The Kristan family mourns the sudden loss of Michael Damian Patrick Kristan, who died in the early morning hours of July 14, 2023. The second of nine children, Michael was born on Oct. 11, 1942, in Wallingford, Conn., to Julius and Helen Chappo Kristan.

June Alice Bloomfield Bourne passed away on July 19, 2023 surrounded by her family. She grew up and spent her early adult life in Glen Ridge, N.J. with her husband of 56 years, Don. She and Don moved to Maine, their dream location, and there she stayed.

Mark LeRoy Erickson died of a heart attack on June 23, 2023, in his home in Warren. He was born in Rockland on April 17, 1951, to Carl Erickson and Mary (Norwood) Erickson Stewart.
