State Farm Sues Wiscasset Over Ladder Truck Incident
A June 2015 accident that took the Wiscasset Fire Department’s ladder truck, Ladder 1, out of service for more than a year is now the subject of a lawsuit. The State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Co. is suing the town of Wiscasset for the cost of the insurance payment made when the wheel of the ladder truck separated from the vehicle and rolled across the roof of a car parked at the Little Village Bistro.
Miles Art Committee Celebrates 30 Years
This fall marks the 30th anniversary of the creation of the Miles Memorial Hospital League art committee. To celebrate the occasion, Connie Bright, director of volunteers at LincolnHealth and a longtime member of the art committee, got together with fellow committee members Pemaquid artist Julie Babb and Bristol artist Judy Nixon on a recent sunny fall afternoon at Sherman’s Maine Coast Book Shop cafe. Two Dead in Boothbay Fire
Two men died and four people were injured in a house fire at 116 Pleasant Cove Road in Boothbay the morning of Sunday, Oct. 9.
Baldomero Zamora, 50, and Lucas Farias, 23, both of Chicago, died in the fire, according to Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland.
