Margaret E. Holden, 86, of Boothbay Harbor, passed away at LincolnHealth’s Miles Campus on Dec. 12, 2023. Margaret was born on March 9, 1937, in Queens, N.Y. to parents Kenneth and Kathryn (Frahm) Chichester.
Linda Pierpont June 15, 1942 - Dec. 7, 2023
Linda Pierpont, 81, of Jefferson, passed away peacefully at the Sussman House in Rockport on Dec. 7, 2023, after a courageous struggle with cancer. She was a loving and compassionate friend to many and the seeds of her concern for others came back to her tenfold in her final weeks. Friends took her to her medical appointments and arrived at her doorstep from near and far, bringing meals and messages of love. She is deeply missed by so many.
Arthur Stanton Wells Jr.
Arthur Stanton Wells Jr. passed away peacefully on Dec. 9, 2023 at Maine Medical Center in Portland. Known as Stan by family, friends, and colleagues, he was born in Kingsport, Tenn. in 1931. From very early youth he spent summers at Christmas Cove in South Bristol, at a house where his grandfather, Capt. Frank B. Wells, first resided, and where his father, Arthur S. Wells, was raised. The house remains in the Wells family to this day.

Julia Hardy Ackerman died aged 70 on Dec. 12, 2023, in Portland, succumbing to a long illness. Born on Sept. 19, 1953, in Knoxville, Tenn., Julia was the daughter of Edward Ackerman and Adrienne Desjardins.
Sandra Marie Pagnano (St. Pierre) Aug. 21, 1942 - Dec. 14, 2023
Sandra Marie Pagnano (St. Pierre) passed away on Dec. 14, 2023 at the age of 81. She was born in Weymouth, Mass., on Aug. 21, 1942 to Louis and K. Frances St. Pierre of Weymouth, Mass. As the mother of five children and “Nana” to 12 grandchildren, Sandra was devoted to always being there for her family. And so her family, in turn, was there for her when she died peacefully in her sleep at home in Union.

Feed Our Scholars Bake Sale at Ames Supply Dec. 16
Feed Our Scholars, the group that supports Wiscasset Elementary School students in need of weekend bags of supplemental food and all students with required school supplies, will hold a bake sale fundraiser at Ames Supply in Wiscasset from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 16. For a donation, visitors can take away delightful, homemade goodies, such as cookies, cakes, pies, breads, and more.

Winter is Lanny Winchenbach’s bloodworm season. In the other months, April to November, he fishes for lobster. Bloodworming is a profession that dates back to the 1920s in Maine. For Lanny, it dates back to when he was 15. The clams were plentiful, but the market was terrible so he switched to harvesting bloodworms.
