On the afternoon of May 13, 2021, the New Harbor community lost one of its beloved members. Patrice “Patti” Dee, 61, passed away at Maine Medical Center in Portland after a period of declining health.

Bristol Marine Crew Joins Botanical Gardens’ Community Build
A crew from Boothbay Harbor’s Bristol Marine recently volunteered at Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, lending considerable expertise to the construction of the gardens’ newest exhibit, giant troll sculptures designed by internationally known recycled arts activist and artist Thomas Dambo. The series of mammoth, recycled-wood trolls underscores the gardens’ 2021 theme focusing on the Maine woods, from history to ongoing importance to health, recreation, and the state’s economy.

Accessible Trail Extension Breaks Ground in Boothbay Harbor
Last summer Boothbay Region Land Trust completed several major improvement projects at Oak Point Farm, its flagship preserve in Boothbay Harbor. Improvements included the expansion of the disability parking area and the installation of a universally accessible trail to the shore. The trail and parking upgrades have enabled access to the scenic saltwater farm for many who otherwise could not fully enjoy this local treasure.
