Robert A. Stover went to be with the Lord on May 18, 2021. Bob died peacefully at home surrounded by his family. He was born on Dec. 8, 1937 in Boothbay Harbor.
Memorial Day Events
A Memorial Day parade sponsored by the American Legion Charles C. Lilly Post No. 149 will begin at the Waldoboro town office, at Route 1 and Depot Street, at 9 a.m.
Old Bristol Garden Club Annual Plant Sale June 5
Gardeners can once again look forward to the annual Old Bristol Garden Club plant sale, which will take place from 8:30-11:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 5. The sale will take place at the Mobius Community Center in Damariscotta on Main Street next to Rising Tide Co-op. There is plenty of parking at the site.
Patricia Dibert Service Announcement
A graveside service for Patricia Dibert, who passed away on Feb. 13, 2021, will be held on Friday, June 11 at 1 p.m. at the Orff’s Corner Cemetery, Winslows Mills Road, Waldoboro.

On the Pond
This week’s column may earn me the title of curmudgeon or just another environmentalist trying to take away all of the fun. I don’t believe I am either, though, admittedly, as I age, I am more easily irritated by things such as incessantly barking dogs, and as readers know, I do love to write about the health of Biscay Pond, the flora and fauna, and just life as a year round resident on Biscay.

Shirley Ann Liddle-Davison passed away peacefully on May 22, 2021. She was born on Sept. 24, 1943, on a Friday in New York City. She was born to Russell and Bessie Liddle.

Art Supplies Sale to Benefit Apifera Farm
The Saltwater Artists Gallery is selling art supplies owned by artist Polly Steadman to benefit Apifera Farm, a nonprofit animal sanctuary providing forever homes for elderly and special-needs animals. There is a great variety of art materials to choose from, including easels, brushes, paints, and canvases as large as 30 inches by 40 inches, and much more.
St. Patrick Project Raising Funds for Church Restoration
St. Patrick Catholic Church in Newcastle, home to significant artifacts like the altar of Bishop Cheverus and a bell cast by Paul Revere & Sons, is an undisputed treasure to Maine and its people. The St. Patrick Project aims to ensure that this standing testament to faith and shared past remains in place for generations to come.

Nancy Clair Weller Brown
Nancy Clair Weller Brown, 88, of Appleton, passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side on May 22, 2021. She was the loving wife of Theodore “Ted” Brown, who predeceased her in 1990.
