Charles G. Beaudette, 90, of South Bristol and Brunswick, passed away on the morning of Aug. 9, 2020 at Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick. Born on Feb. 6, 1930 in Boston, Mass., he was the husband of Kate Beaudette.

Damariscotta Neighbors Invited to Join Facebook Live Rally Against Breast Cancer
On Thursday, Aug. 13, from 9 – 10 a.m., the American Cancer Society will host the 2020 Making Strides Against Breast Cancer virtual kickoff rally to share details about this year’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer movement. While largescale, in-person events will not be happening this year due to the pandemic, the kickoff will unveil exciting details about the reimaged celebrations that are planned.
Scientists Use New Method for Ocean Research
Researchers have advanced a new way to see into the ocean’s depths, establishing an approach to detect algae and measure key properties using light. A paper published in in the scientific journal “Applied Optics” reports using a laser-based tool, “lidar,” to collect these measurements far deeper than has been typically possible using satellites.

Early in the morning on Sunday, July 26, 2020, James H. Christ, 78, passed away quietly to be reunited with our beautiful mom after a long, courageous battle with cancer and surrounded by all four of his children at this side. Jim was born Jan. 16, 1942 in Manhattan, N.Y. to Herbert and Virginia (Keinholtz) Christ.
