Monika Genthner, 78, of Round Pond, passed away from dementia on the afternoon of April 28, 2020 at the Harborview Cottages in Newcastle.
Damariscotta History Farewell to a local historian, Marjorie Dodge
New construction and improvements are well underway in our beautiful town of Damariscotta. A new drainage system is underway on Bristol Road and granite curbing is being installed for our new sidewalks, which will greatly improve the safety of people who walk along Bristol Road. There has been a real need for the last 15 years for a good sidewalk on Bristol Road.

The Alna Food Pantry is in the basement of the Alna town office, 1574 Alna Road. The pantry is open from 8 a.m. to noon Tuesday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, and 2-6 p.m. Thursday. The pantry allows one visit per week. Area residents are welcome.

Honoring Rich Kubler, May Blood Drive Still On
On Saturday, May 9 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., the First Congregational Church of Wiscasset will hold a blood drive in honor of church member Rich Kubler. Kubler, a firefighter and 9/11 first responder, was diagnosed last fall with stage four liver cancer, believed to be linked to exposure at Ground Zero. As a man who had dedicated his life to serving others, the community is now hosting this blood drive in his honor.

Throughout my teenage years, I traveled a lot.
