Irises Giveaway on April 25
A group of Waldoboro women will be handing out iris flowers on April 25 outside of Dow’s Furniture Gallery on 280 Atlantic Highway. Inspired by the beautiful white flowers while thinning one of the women’s garden, the ladies decided to share the beauty with local residents and have packaged bulbs into paper bags with a photo and care instructions for replanting.
Country Club Raises $127K for Good Shepherd Food Bank
Paul Coulombe, owner of Boothbay Harbor Country Club, issued a challenge to the club’s members to support Good Shepherd Food Bank and offered to match all donations up to $50,000. In less than two weeks, 100 donors came together to meet the challenge to support Lincoln County’s 4,000 food insecure residents.
Nobleboro Volunteers Sew Face Masks, With Power or Without
“It’s all Stan’s fault,” said Callie Bartholomae as she dropped a bright blue face mask into a Ziploc bag. Bartholomae, with fellow organizer Patty Stevens, was upstairs at The First Baptist Church of Nobleboro sorting and packaging 55 hand-sewn face masks for delivery to the Nobleboro Village Store and the Nobleboro Post Office.
