A program on the familiar reptile species of Maine and ways to conserve them will be held at the Bremen Library, located at 204 Waldoboro Road in Bremen, on Thursday, Jan. 23 at 7 p.m.

Deborah Holmes Beam, 58, of Edgecomb, passed away peacefully on Jan. 10, 2020, in the loving hands of her family at Midcoast Hospital in Brunswick. Her passing comes after a long and courageous battle with cancer and liver disease, a battle that she may not have won, but never let get between her and her life of love and service.

Eric Manning, 46, passed away unexpectedly in the early morning hours of Jan. 12, 2020 at his home in Bristol. Born on July 22, 1973 in Torrington, Conn., he was the son of Lamont and Virginia (Emond) Manning.

Elizabeth Faye (Money) Bickford March 14, 1933 - Dec. 23, 2019

Elizabeth Faye (Money) Bickford passed away on Dec. 23, 2019, at Cove’s Edge nursing facility at LincolnHealth – Miles Campus in Damariscotta. She had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease almost two years before.

Christopher M. Duffy, 73, passed away on the evening of Jan. 12, 2020 at his home in Waldoboro, with his family by his side.

Benefit Dinner

A benefit supper for Carol (Wall) Curtis and Elijah Curtis will take place at the Wells-Hussey American Legion Post No. 42 in Damariscotta from 4-7 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 18. The dinner will consist of spaghetti, Italian bread, a beverage, and dessert.

The Maine Community Foundation offers more than 600 scholarships that support students pursuing studies in music, journalism, teaching, horticulture, technology, the arts, and many other fields. The scholarships are available for students who attend secondary, post-secondary, and graduate schools, as well as nontraditional programs.
