William “Bill” Alton Ames Sr., 77, of Jefferson, passed away on the evening of Jan. 6, 2020 in Augusta, as the result of injuries he sustained in an automobile accident.

Anne Avantaggio Meyer died peacefully in Newburyport, Mass. on Jan. 5, 2020 at the age of 93.

A community luncheon will be held at noon on Thursday, Jan. 16 in the Waldoboro United Methodist Church vestry, 85 Friendship St., Waldoboro. The luncheon is free. No reservation is required.

Pemaquid Group of Artists to Exhibit at Damariscotta River Grill

Seventeen artists of the Pemaquid Group of Artists will exhibit their diverse styles, mediums, and viewpoints at Damariscotta River Grill Jan. 13 to Feb. 24. An opening reception will be held Wednesday, Jan. 15 from 4-5 p.m., which will include the option of staying for a prix fixe dinner at 5 p.m. for $22, with a trio of wine pairings for $8.
