Wiscasset’s Tim Merry Retires from Bath Fire Department
There are few people in Wiscasset who don’t know or haven’t at least heard about Tim Merry, a man who has worn many hats in his 58 years of life so far, mostly in Wiscasset. He is a veteran, Wiscasset’s former fire chief, a former selectman, and a volunteer firefighter. He recently retired from the Bath Fire Department after more than 30 years and is planning to take a few months off before embarking on the next journey in his life.

Wiscasset voters rejected the Wiscasset Board of Selectmen’s proposal to repeal the historic preservation ordinance, 536-437, on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 7.
Preservation Commission OKs Plan for Former Newspaper Office
The Wiscasset Historic Preservation Commission approved a certificate of appropriateness for the conversion of part of the former Wiscasset Newspaper office, at 47 Gardiner Road, into an office and water laboratory. The rest of the building could become an apartment or another office.

Whitefield Elementary Gives Local WWII Vet an Emotional Send-Off
World War II veteran Donald Gould, of Whitefield, with about 45-50 other veterans, departed on an Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. the morning of Friday, Oct. 27. The day before, Whitefield Elementary School students and staff surprised the U.S. Army vet with a special assembly to honor his service.
Maine Yankee Panel Continues Work Toward Fuel Removal
