With the donation of a vehicle and fuel from local businesses and assistance from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, the Lincoln County Summer Meals program is bringing food to more children than ever.

Fire destroyed a house at 421 Hilton Road in Whitefield the evening of Sunday, May 17. No one was home when the fire started and there were no injuries.

Firefighters from five local departments battled a garage fire on Black Brook Drive in Somerville the morning of Saturday, March 21. A family was able to exit the nearby home safely, and firefighters were able to save the house, a barn, and several animals.

While more than 7,000 Central Maine Power Co. customers in Lincoln County are without power after a windstorm early Friday, Nov. 1, “a lot of good progress” was made getting roads reopened to traffic, according to Lincoln County Emergency Management Agency Director Casey Stevens.
