Dunkin’ Maine business owners are coming together to support those affected by the Lewiston tragedy and donate funds for the Lewiston Support Fund. From Monday through Wednesday, Nov. 6-8, all Dunkin’ locations in Maine will donate $1 from every hot and iced coffee sold to the support fund created by the city of Lewiston and Androscoggin Bank.

This October, fifth and sixth graders from Great Salt Bay Community School participated in field trips to Twin Villages Foodbank Farm, where they harvested fresh food, rain or shine, and cooked with FARMS at the Y.

Thirteen students from the Center for Teaching and Learning in Edgecomb had their writing published in the most recent issue of EPOCH, a creative magazine developed by Skidompha Public Library and edited by local teens.

Grades 3-4 have begun weekly field trips to the Darling Marine Center to learn about the ocean and what’s in it. On their first visit they learned that the Damariscotta River is “brackish,” which means it has a combination of saltwater and fresh water. They also received a tour of the center and got to investigate a variety of creatures in touch tanks.
