The Lincoln County News will print a special section for the high school class of 2021 in its June 3 edition.

The Lincoln County Historical Association works with local schools to advance the historical heritage of Lincoln County and Maine. In this effort, the organization’s education director has developed two booklets that provide educators and their students with an overview of historical data in an interdisciplinary manner: “Settlement during the War Years — 17th & 18th Century Challenges in MidCoast Maine,” and “The 1800s — A Century of Highs and Lows.”

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month and Healthy Kids has planted pinwheel gardens all over Lincoln County to remind people how important children.

Funding from three project partners in the past two weeks brings Coastal Rivers Conservation Trust close to the finish line in their campaign to permanently conserve Chapman Field and Forest, a 32-acre parcel in Damariscotta. Adjacent to Coastal Rivers’ 115-acre Salt Bay Farm property on Belvedere Road, the property includes forest, wetland, and a significant amount of farmland with excellent soils.

Busy volunteers from the Waldoboro Public Library will again hang the open sign on the Waldoboro Village Bookshop at 25 Main St. beginning Tuesday, April 13.

It’s a Virtual, Musical Spring Thing, a fundraiser for Inn Along the Way and Lincoln County Television, will take place at 7 p.m. on Sunday, April 11. The program will be available on LCTV (Channel 7) or via livestream at lctv.org.

More than post-and-beam frames are built during a Midcoast Conservancy timber frame course at Hidden Valley Nature Center. Partnerships, friendships and new skill sets are regular features of the four-day workshops.
