After five years of reduced shopping capacity due to COVID-19 and other considerations, the Help Yourself Shelf at St. Philip’s Episcopal Church in Wiscasset is going back to its all-at-once food pantry distributions starting Thursday, May 1. No more waiting in long lines in the car: patrons will be able to shop all together every Thursday from 5-6 p.m.

Plans for Waldoboro Day, Saturday, June 14, are coming together. There will be a 5K road race, a parade, a variety of events, a band concert, and topping off the day’s events: fireworks. This year’s theme, selected through online voting is “Where Community Grows.”

Copies of the Pemaquid Messenger Sought for Digitization Project
Old Bristol Historical Society is pleased to announce a private donor who wishes to remain anonymous has stepped forward to fund the Pemaquid Messenger newspaper digitization project. The Messenger was published in Pemaquid Falls between 1886 and 1897 and preserves historical information not found anywhere else. Existing copies are in very fragile condition and will soon be lost if they’re not preserved in digital form.
