In the fall of 2019, when trustees, staff, and volunteers at Central Lincoln County Ambulance Service launched a capital campaign to fund two new ambulances to replace aging and increasingly unreliable vehicles, they couldn’t have predicted that the fundraising effort would be suspended six months later due to the demands of COVID-19 preparation and staff training.

Drive-Up Flu Clinic Canceled
The LincolnHealth drive-up flu clinics scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 17 in Boothbay Harbor and Damariscotta have been canceled due to a forecast of high winds and inclement weather.

Auction to Benefit Seagull Shop
The Saltwater Artists Gallery is having a silent auction to raise money to help the Seagull Shop in Pemaquid, which had a devastating fire recently destroy the shop and restaurant. The contributing artists, Scott White, Lynn Thompson, Cindy Smith, Dave Higgins, Janet Lockhart, Cathie Peterson, and Judine French, are donating the entire proceeds of the auction to the Seagull Shop.
Fall Tai Chi Series
Bubbling Spring Studio in Bristol will be offering tai chi classes for beginners, on Wednesday, Oct. 21 at 4:30 p.m. and Thursday, Oct. 22 at 9:30 a.m. The classes will feature gentle movement for health, relaxation, balance, and increased energy.
Bottle Drive for Veterans
The Waldoboro Auxiliary will be accepting donations of bottles to help veterans and their families to have a full and secure Thanksgiving and Christmas. Bottle drives will be held Tuesdays, Oct. 13 and Oct. 20 from 9-11 a.m. at the lower level of the Waldoboro Legion.

Digital History Launched on Nation’s First Audubon Camp
Friends of Hog Island has announced the launch of a digital history about the Hog Island Audubon Camp in Bremen. Since its founding in 1936 as a hands-on conservation camp for teachers, the Audubon Camp in Maine has instilled a love of nature and commitment to community and conservation in the more than 50,000 campers who have arrived on Hog Island.

Alna
The Alna Food Pantry is in the basement of the Alna town office, 1574 Alna Road. The pantry is open from 8 a.m. to noon Tuesday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, and 2-6 p.m. Thursday. The pantry allows one visit per week. Area residents are welcome.
Fisher Ladder Restoration Raffle, Fundraising
The annual Damariscotta Mills alewife festival was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but the quilt raffle was not. Christine Ruffley was the winner in the raffle drawing on Labor Day. In front of a small crowd of 11 cheering onlookers, Christine’s ticket number was drawn from the bag by Mary Chase.
