Students Run Food, Clothing Drive
A group of Bremen middle school students is organizing a food and clothing drive for the Thanksgiving holiday. All donations will go to Caring for Kids in Bristol. Caring for Kids supports the nutritional, educational, and clothing needs of children in Bristol, South Bristol, and Bremen. Money is also being raised for the Penobscot Nation food pantry in Old Town.

Conservancy Accepts Land Donation in Newcastle
Last week, Roland Barth, of Alna, generously donated 25 acres of Newcastle woods and wetlands to Midcoast Conservancy in memory of his late father, the Reverend Joseph Barth. Rev. Barth, with Roland’s brother Nick, founded the Sheepscot Valley Conservation Association in 1966. The association subsequently became a founding member of Midcoast Conservancy.
Damariscotta Police Department Winter Parking Ban
This notice is for all motorists that park on any street or road, or in the municipal parking lot after hours in Damariscotta. In accordance with the Town of Damariscotta Traffic and Parking Ordinance, Article 1.17 Winter Parking, parking is prohibited on any street, road, or municipal parking lot from Nov. 15 to April 15 between the hours of 9 p.m. and 7 a.m.

Marine Center Waterfront Construction Underway

CLC Y’s ‘Community Giving Tree’
The Central Lincoln County YMCA is accepting applications for families in need of gifts this holiday season. Those in need may pick up an application from the CLC YMCA after Nov. 2. The Y is working to add local schools, churches, and town offices for application pick up locations. The simple, confidential application form should be returned to the CLC Y, located at 525 Main Street in Damariscotta, by Friday, Nov. 13.
‘Nightmare on Federal Street’ Canceled
Wiscasset town manager Dennis Simmons is announcing the cancellation of the “Nightmare on Federal Street” event scheduled for Oct. 31. In lieu of this event, Parks and Recreation Director Duane Goud has arranged a drive-thru event to be held at the Wiscasset Community Center.
