Call for Art for ‘Monhegan & the Islands’
The Kefauver Studio & Gallery, Damariscotta, is calling for artists to participate in the “Monhegan & the Islands” art exhibition. This is the third group show of the 2021 season, and runs from Sept. 24 to Oct. 24. The theme is the natural and man-made beauty of beloved Monhegan Island, and Maine’s other islands, including Vinalhaven, Mount Desert Island, and Peaks Island. All work should be in keeping with that theme.
Pemaquid Art Gallery’s Art for Outreach Mission
Every year, area residents receive benefits from the sale of artwork by the Pemaquid Group of Artists. A long-standing mission of this group is to foster an appreciation of art in the Midcoast area and to support art education. Funding for this mission comes from commissions on sales, membership fees, donated artworks and donations from visitors.
Local Musicians Featured at Live Edge Music Festival
Midcoast Conservancy will hold the ninth annual Live Edge Music Festival on Sunday, Sept. 19, at Hidden Valley Nature Center in Jefferson. Gates will open at 11:30 a.m.; the music will run until 6 p.m.
Springsteen Night Show Sept. 2 Outside at Lakehurst Lodge
Lincoln County Television’s Summer Concert Series continues Thursday, Sept. 2 outside on the Lakehurst Lodge lawn, with an earlier start time of 6 p.m. for daylight reasons. Bring chairs and blankets. Local music favorites Bob Colwell and friends will present a night of Bruce Springsteen’s best-known songs.
New Wiscasset Bay Gallery Exhibition Opens Sept. 4
“Impressionism, Modernism & Realism Across the Atlantic” will open at the Wiscasset Bay Gallery in Wiscasset on Saturday, Sept. 4. The exhibition will feature works by artists from the United States, Great Britain, France, Spain, Holland, Italy, Germany, Austria, and Luxembourg and span the 17th century through the 21st century.

Auditions for 2021-22 Season on Aug. 31
Lincoln County Community Theater, the resident theater company of Damariscotta’s Lincoln Theater, will hold general auditions for the upcoming 2021-22 season from 5:30-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 31, at the Lincoln Theater.
Local Hand Weavers at Arts in the Field
Linda Mercer and Linda Healy, hand weavers from Newcastle, will participate in the second annual Arts in the Field event from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 28 at the Good Neighbors Park, 45 River Road in Cushing.

Gala Abstract Show Opens at River Arts
