The Saltwater Artists Gallery welcomes Beth Badger of Brunswick as a new exhibitor in its gallery. Badger is a Maine contemporary realist who tells stories in paint. Her pictures convey moods and emotions of the environment that surround her.

The studio at Midcoast Printmakers, a local nonprofit art workshop, is offering a summer class for up to four student participants in its large garage, which can be opened wide to safely provide a nearly open-air studio. Students will be asked to wear masks as a precaution during class.

Gleason Fine Art gallery artist Lyn Asselta has earned “Gold” recognition for one of her paintings at the prestigious Juried Exhibition of the International Association of Pastel Societies. For pastel artists, this recognition is akin to winning the Kentucky Derby.

The Merry Barn Writers’ Retreat is offering a virtual summer camps for young writers and readers. These week-long and one-day adventures will take place over Zoom.

The Shottery Gallery of Art is opening for its 22nd season on Friday, June 5. This year, following state guidelines, and for the comfort and safety of everyone, visitors must wear a facemask and gloves. This is essential for the handling of needlework and ceramics. Gloves will be available if needed. A maximum of five visitors will be allowed in the gallery at a time.

Waldo Theatre renovation work continues this spring, thanks to the talents and generosity of local friends. Technology upgrades will happen over the summer with the support of individual donors and a grant recently awarded to the theatre by the Maine Community Foundation, Lincoln County Fund.

The Kefauver Studio & Gallery in Damariscotta will open for the 2020 season on Monday, June 1. The gallery will exhibit work by Will Kefauver only at this initial opening.
