A tractor-trailer in the process of unloading agricultural lime at the Damariscotta River Association’s Great Salt Bay Farm and Heritage Center in Damariscotta tipped over the morning of Monday, Nov. 6. No injuries were reported, according to the Damariscotta Police Department.

Boothbay Region High School girls cross-country standouts and sisters Faith and Glory Blethen were among six students and two chaperones from the Boothbay Region Congregational Church to go on a mission trip to Guatemala City from Oct. 4-11.

Firefighters from seven local departments battled a fire at 492 Lowelltown Road in Wiscasset the morning of Sunday, Nov. 5. The single occupant of the mobile home was able to exit the building safely and was brought to a local hospital for evaluation.

“Lincoln County Emergency Management Agency needs help from the public. We are working on a damage assessment report for FEMA,” LCEMA director Casey Stevens announced Wednesday. According to Stevens, LCEMA is looking for help from the public to take pictures of damage from the storm. Residents are advised by the LCEMA to only take pictures if it is safe to do so.

Over 16,000 Lincoln County households were still without electricity at press time Wednesday, Nov. 1, according to Central Maine Power Co., as the utility worked to restore power after a major rain and windstorm pummeled the area Sunday night through Monday.

World War II veteran Donald Gould, of Whitefield, with about 45-50 other veterans, departed on an Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. the morning of Friday, Oct. 27. The day before, Whitefield Elementary School students and staff surprised the U.S. Army vet with a special assembly to honor his service.
