Our dear Kevin James Martin, 27, of Jefferson, left us far too soon as a result of a car accident on August 16, 2023.

Edward J. King went way too soon, passing on Feb. 23, 2023, but always fought his health battles to the fullest. He endured many years of declining health and complications.

Heidi Berry, 63, of North Chesterfield, Va. passed away Aug. 27, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Virginia Sprague Berry. She is survived by her loving husband, Edward Britland; sons, Cameron Britland (Julie), Tyler Britland, and Alex Britland (Monica); and grandchildren, Logan, Austin, Haizeley, and Myles.

Robert H. Dinsmore, 82, of Newcastle, passed away on the afternoon of Sunday, Aug. 8, at the Maine Medical Center in Portland. Robert was born in Newcastle, on July 3, 1941, to Harry and Alice (Savage) Dinsmore.

Norman C. Hunt passed away the day after his 81st birthday, on the afternoon of Aug. 25, 2023, at the Sussman House in Rockport, after a long period of declining health.

Robert Alan Laird, 90, passed away peacefully on Aug. 8, 2023. Bob was born on Jan. 26, 1933 to parents Naomi Miller Laird and Russell Dair Laird in the town of Mansfield, Ohio. Bob grew up in Shaker Heights, Ohio before attending Trinity College in Hartford, Conn. Shortly after he graduated, he continued his education at the University of Chicago where he earned his MBA.

Gladys Ayer Johnston passed away early on the morning of Aug. 31, at 93 years of age, after a period of declining health.

Thomas H. Littell, 71, of Nobleboro, passed away peacefully with his wife by his side holding his hand at the Sussman House in Rockport on Aug. 29, 2023. Thomas was born on Aug. 25, 1952, to Marlyn (Murrin) Heppner.

Donald G. Burnham, 71, of Contoocook, N.H., passed away peacefully on Aug. 3, 2023 following an extended illness. Donald was born on Dec. 15, 1951 in Norwalk, Conn. He was the son of the late Anna Jean and Roger Burnham.

Shane Matthew Sykes, 33, of Warren, died after a brief illness on Aug. 9, 2023 at Pen Bay Medical Center. He was born in Bangor on June 16, 1990 to Gerald (Roy) and Cynthia (Hagar) Sykes. He was a lifetime resident of the Midcoast. Wherever he lived, he always called Bristol his home.

Bebe Ablon, born Betty Ann Epstein on May 28, 1938, in Dorchester, Mass., passed away peacefully on Aug. 24, 2023, at the age of 85, in Dallas, Texas. She was a vivacious, playful, tenacious, and progressive woman who will be deeply missed by the professional, social, and spiritual communities to which she contributed and belonged.

Gertie Dejean, 94 years and 11 months, of Newcastle, passed away peacefully with her daughter by her side at her home in Newcastle on Aug. 26, 2023. 

Brenda K. Simmons, 82, passed away at her home in Waldoboro on Aug. 4, 2023.
