Wiscasset High School returns five players from the 2010 team that went 10-6 in the Mt.Valley Conference last season.

Christian Moon, 6, of Jefferson, won second place in fighting and third place in Chanbara in Huard’s 31st Annual Martial Arts Championships, held Sat. March 26 at Sukee Arena & Events Center in Winslow.

University of Maine at Farmington sophomore pitcher Dale Winchenbach and freshman infielder/pitcher Alex Goldrup, both of Waldoboro, were honored by the North Eastern Athletic Conference April 5.

Lincoln Academy opened their Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference 2011 spring season with a 12-0 five-inning mercy ruling win over Medomak Valley on Friday.

Lincoln Academy rallied in late innings to beat Winslow 3-2 in the rain on Monday to pick up their first win of the season.

Medomak boys placed second to Brunswick, and LA fifth in a six-team meet in their KVAC opener at Morse April 14.

Shania Creamer, a 15-year-old sophomore at Lincoln Academy, performed in several figure skating numbers, including a solo at the Skating Club of Brunswick’s “That’s Entertainment” figure skating extravaganza March 20.

The Coastal Hoops Basketball Program held a Dodgeball Tournament as a fundraiser at Bristol School on Sat., Feb. 26. There were three age division brackets, including the Youth Division (grades 5-8), High School (Grades 9 -12) and Adult (over 18 and out of high school). Fifteen teams participated in the tournament.

Wrestlers and fans packed the Warsaw Middle School gymnasium in Pittsfield on Saturday for the Pine Tree Wrestling Leagues East Regional championships.

Number three seed Medomak Valley girls’ basketball team upset number two ranked John Bapst on Feb. 24 to advance to the Eastern Maine Class B championship game against Nokomis. John Bapst stayed with the Panthers in first half action, before Medomak cranked up their defensive game in the second half to outscore John Bapst 29-15 and win 54-36.

Medomak 7th grade travel boys and Midcoast 7th Warrior girls won the Medomak Midcoast Madness basketball tournament held March 18-19.

The Lincoln County Eagles won the Gray New Gloucester YBA Patriot League 7th & 8th grade championship.

Lincoln Academy (CLC) Undergrad boys’ basketball team competed in the Kennebec Valley YMCA tournament.

Medomak Valley High School held their winter sports awards on Wed., March 9.
