Sandra Dinsmore, 77, of Newcastle, passed away on the afternoon of Thursday, Jan. 2 at Pen Bay Hospital in Rockport. Sandra was born on Dec. 16, 1947 in Newcastle as the youngest of seven children. Sandra attended Lincoln Academy, where she played on the girls basketball team.

Carol Hall Perry, 77, a beloved member of the Waldoboro community, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Jan. 9, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Born on June 3, 1947, in Skowhegan, Carol was the daughter of Richard A. Hall and Cynthia (Bailey) Hall. Growing up in Waldoboro, she graduated from Waldoboro High School in 1965, where her passion for service and community were evident from a young age. Carol met Bill Wade at a young age; they married and had three beautiful children, Lisa, Nate, and Sue.

Round Pond
As people were want to do back in the day, Fran and Bill Russell loaded B.J. and Jill into their ’55 Oldsmobile to go for a Sunday “ride” in the early spring of 1965. They lived in North Newcastle at the time and their meanderings that day brought them through Round Pond. As they drove by the old King Ro Manor, Fran always told me that her heart stuttered and she knew that that was their future.
