Midcoast Conservancy Offers a Forest Bathing Workshop
The natural world offers many forms of respite and restoration. Forest therapy is a research-based framework for supporting healing and wellness through immersion in forests and other natural environments. In Japan it is called “shinrin yoku,” which translates to “forest bathing.” Studies have demonstrated a wide array of health benefits, especially in the cardiovascular and immune systems, and for stabilizing and improving mood and cognition.

Midcoast Conservancy Protects Key Parcel in Newcastle
Midcoast Conservancy purchased a high priority 57-acre addition to its Rev. Joseph Barth Memorial Demonstration and Experimental Forest from Nick and Sandra Barth. The Rev. Joseph Barth, with Nick Barth, founded the Sheepscot Valley Conservation Association in 1966. Sheepscot Valley Conservation Association subsequently became a founding member of Midcoast Conservancy.
