Jazz in the Woods: A Benefit Concert Featuring Jamie Saft
Midcoast Conservancy is delighted to offer a jazz concert at Hidden Valley Nature Center featuring the internationally renowned Jamie Saft Trio plus special guests on Saturday, August 28, from 4‑6 p.m. In addition to Saft on keyboards, the trio includes Stu Mahan on bass, John Mettam on drums, with Vanessa Saft on vocals. Additional guest musicians will also make an appearance.

Free Summer Meals for Kids
This summer, children and teens can eat free at various sites throughout Lincoln County. Like in past years, Healthy Lincoln County is the local sponsor for the U.S. Department of Agriculture-funded Summer Food Service Program. As a result, any child, 18 or under, can receive a free meal at any of our sites with no questions asked. In addition, no registration or paperwork is required. The summer meals van has also returned this year to specific neighborhoods in Waldoboro, Wiscasset, Edgecomb, and Damariscotta.
Waldoborough Historical Society’s Doors Open for Summer
The Waldoborough Historical Society’s doors opened for the summer months on June 19. Thanks go to Carol Hall Perry, Becky Maxwell, Bill Blodgett, Neil Lash and Dana Dow for sharing their memories of their youth for all who gathered outside the Hauck/Bailey Building. Each person present was given a shortbread cookie with an edible painting of the society’s logo provided by Associate Trustee Peter Robbins. The Museum is now open from noon to 3 p.m. every day except Tuesday. Visits are free to the public.
Historical Society to Revive Rubber Ducky Race
The Rubber Ducky Race will be revived by the Old Bristol Historical Society, which will hold the popular fund-raising event on Sunday, July 25, at noon on the Pemaquid River across Route 130 from the Society’s Pemaquid Falls campus.

Shirley Ingraham Woodcock, 91, died July 4, 2021 at Maine Medical Center in Portland. Shirley was born on Oct. 14, 1929 in Lowell, Mass. Shirley graduated from Houlton High School. Shirley was a longtime resident of Dutch Neck in Waldoboro.
