There are many important aspects to creating age-friendly communities, but aging in place is one that is increasingly important to our aging population. It is news to no one that Maine is an aging state. Lincoln County is the state’s oldest county, with a median age of 50.
Lincoln Theater Announces This Year’s Stories to Screen Giveaway
Lincoln Theater, at 2 Theater St. in Damariscotta, is pleased to announce its next Stories to Screen program – this time focusing on the work of J.R.R. Tolkien with “The Hobbit” and “The Lord of the Rings.”
Lifelong Communities Mini-Grant Program Seeks Applications
Grants of up to $2,500 are available through the Maine Community Foundation to help communities be more supportive of older people’s health, well-being, and ability to age in the community. The grants will support community planning and development and implementation of programs that increase opportunities for people over 60 to stay in their communities as they age.
