The 11th annual NAMI Night at the Central Lincoln County YMCA was held Thursday, April 28, on the Sanford Family Tennis Center Courts in partnership with NAMI Maine. The event, which features a tennis doubles demonstration by local tennis pros, is held to generate open conversations about mental health and to create awareness of support available in the community. This year the event focused on youth mental health in Lincoln County.

Eileen Mary Harvey, 69, of Damariscotta, passed away at home on the morning of May 10, 2022. She was born in 1952 in Dublin, the Republic of Ireland. She immigrated to the United States in 1955.
News from the Fishermen’s Museum
The Fishermen’s Museum at the Pemaquid Point Lighthouse Park will open May 4. Since 1972, the museum has focused on preserving the fishing and marine heritage of the Bristol area with displays, models, dioramas, and photographs.

I read my Christian devotionals and watched classic movies on TV. I done some writing. I had my lunch and supper in the dining room with my friends. I was helped to bed early afterwards.

Nobleboro History Revisited: Alewives – Nature’s Gift
Damariscotta Mills alewives have been a major boon to our towns of Nobleboro and Newcastle. In 1977, the total fishery catch was 10,211 bushels, with an income of $28,284. Each town received a net income, after paying expenses, of $12,000. In the previous year, the catch was even higher at 14,772 bushels. With 1978 high prices for alewives for lobster bait, the potential income could exceed that of a year ago.

On a Saturday morning, women landowners began to arrive at the Hidden Valley Nature Center in Jefferson. After parking, they followed the dirt road to the Nature Center where forestry professionals waited to greet them with coffee, tea, and donuts.
