Lincoln County has a beautiful history and tradition of local food cultivation and production, a history that is in many ways the quintessential Maine way of life. For centuries, local dairies, produce farmers, small homesteads and seafaring fisherman have helped us fill our tables with bountiful, nutritious foods to fuel our bodies and minds. This year, my colleagues and I in the legislature took steps to protect our critical heritage industries for centuries to come.

Lincoln Academy to Host Parent Open House Sept. 8
On Wednesday, Sept. 8, Lincoln Academy will host its annual open house for families of LA students. This year, the event will take place earlier in the school year and start with class meetings for parents in each grade level. All LA parents are encouraged to attend and masks are required inside all campus buildings.

Lincoln County Community Theater, the resident theater company of Damariscotta’s Lincoln Theater, will hold general auditions for the upcoming 2021-22 season from 5:30-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 31, at the Lincoln Theater.

Please take note that, pursuant to 38 MRSA, Sections 413 and 414-A, LEDVANCE LLC of 405 Friendship Road intends to file a wastewater discharge permit application with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP). The application is for the discharge of 10,000 gallons per day of treated groundwater to the Medomak River in Waldoboro, Maine. The application will be filed on or about September 6, 2021 and will be available for public inspection at DEP’s Augusta office during normal business hours. A copy may also be seen at the municipal offices in Waldoboro.
