Senior Trevor Brown joined an elite basketball group at Medomak Valley High School when he scored his 1,000th career point on the road at Maine Central Institute on Jan. 14. Brown becomes only the fifth player in Medomak Valley history to reach the 1,000-point milestone.

Panthers Tame the Black Bears Medomak 76 - Maranacook 49
Medomak Valley boys basketball team tamed the Black Bears of Maranacook 76-49 on Jan. 18 in the Panther den. Medomak jumped out to a 25-15 lead. Trevor Brown scored a career high 30 points in the win, Jacob Craig added 13, Patrick McKenney 11, and Jaiden Starr 10 in a balanced offensive attack. Maranacook was led by Brayden St. Pierre with 14 and Keagan McClure 10.
Midcoast Polar Bear Pickleballers Persists on Jefferson Court
When COVID-19 shut down the CLC YMCA in March 2020, a loyal group of pickleball players found themselves with nowhere to play. After nearly three months of not playing the game they loved, and missing the camaraderie of their pickleball group, they formed their own group and started playing year round on the Jefferson community courts, located next to the Jefferson Village School.

Boothbay boys, down their top two scorers, lost to Spruce Mountain 68-21 in the Seahawk nest on Jan. 15. The Phoenix were led by Jace Bessey with 37 points and Elie Timler 17. Boothbay was led by Giovann Warren with 7.

Medomak Valley boys basketball team defeated MCI on the road on Jan. 14, 65-43. It was an eventful night, with Trevor Brown scoring his 1,000th career points with about a minute and a half to go in the second quarter. Brown scored 24 in the win. Patrick McKenney added 20 and Kory Donlin 7. MCI was led by Buttenfield with 13 and Martinez 11.
