Villages of Light to Return with Traditional Parade
For its fifth year, the Villages of Light celebration will return in its traditional form with a parade through the Twin Villages of Damariscotta and Newcastle on Friday, Nov. 26, the day after Thanksgiving.
2022 Calendars Available from Damariscotta Historical Society
The Damariscotta Historical Society’s 2022 calendar is available, featuring 13 historical pictures. This year’s images include the first snowmobile in Damariscotta from around 1920. Dr. Robert Belknap drove it around in the winter to see patients.

Chicken Pies To-Go in Whitefield
The traditional and ever-popular chicken pie supper held at Kings Mills Union Hall in Whitefield will take on a new twist this year, as the group will instead hold a takeout pie sale by reservation on Sunday, Nov. 7.
Funds Needed for Pigs and Piglets
The Morris Farm Trust in Wiscasset has taken in a family of pigs, plus its sow just had eight piglets. The farm needs funds for pig feed, vet care, hay for bedding and feed. Any monetary donations will help make an impact.

Maine Rep. Lydia Crafts, D-Newcastle, will host office hours beginning at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 30 at the Veterans Memorial Park in Newcastle.

Shooting Competition to be Held in Bristol
The Samoset Fish and Game Club will host shooting competition events at its rifle range, located on Transfer Station Road in Bristol on Sunday, Oct. 24 and Sunday, Oct. 31. The competitions begin at 9:30 a.m.
Drive-Thru Shred Event Oct. 30
The Damariscotta Region Chamber of Commerce will host a drive-thru shred event from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Oct. 30 in the parking lot of Lincoln County Publishing at 116 Mills Road in Newcastle.
