The Maine Community Foundation has awarded the Old Bristol Historical Society an $8,000 grant for the exterior renovation of the south wall of the mill at Pemaquid Falls. The grant is made from the Belvedere Historical Preservation Fund of the Maine Community Foundation.

One2One caregivers will help with meal planning and preparation, and now will offer delivery of fresh, locally sourced meals prepared by the culinary team at Lincoln Home. Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry’s Maine Forest Service announced Ranger Scott Maddox has accepted the District Forest Ranger position in the Damariscotta District. Maddox assumed his new role on Sept. 4.

Twenty-five students from 15 universities nationwide presented their summer marine research at the sixth annual Science for Economic Impact and Application Fellows Symposium, held this year at the Downeast Institute in Beals.

The fun frolic of the favorite festival of Maine’s Midcoast is forthcoming, as Damariscotta Pumpkinfest and Regatta is back in full regalia Oct. 7-9.

Fall is in the air, and Veggies to Table is busy harvesting tomatoes, eggplants, cucumbers, zucchini, pumpkins, squash, and more. They have now donated more than 36,000 pounds of organic produce and more than 40,000 joyful flower stems to those in need of food and joy in just over three years.

The Nobleboro Historical Society’s AppleFest is back after a two-year pause due to COVID-19 and will be on Saturday, Oct. 1 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Nobleboro Central School and the Historical Center. The money raised is for the $1,000 scholarships the historical society offers and to support the society as a resource of Nobleboro history.

The grounds of Lincoln County Historical Association’s Chapman-Hall House museum in Damariscotta will be the site of an archaeological investigation during the first two weeks of September.
