Call for Buskers for 2024 Pumpkinfest
Musicians, singers, magicians, and performers are invited to audition for this year’s Damariscotta Pumpkinfest & Regatta. The Damariscotta Pumpkinfest & Regatta is held every year during Indigenous Peoples Day weekend. This year’s festival runs from Saturday, Oct.12 through Monday, Oct. 14. The buskers are a beloved part of the Pumpkinfest tradition, and return this year along with the Giant Pumpkin Parade and Pumpkin Regatta.

Over the past year, community members and visitors have saved over $1,000, prevented the disposal of over 12,000 single-use foodware items, reduced the community’s trash at the transfer station by nearly 250 pounds, and reduced carbon emissions by the equivalent of .69 metric tons of carbon dioxide.
Good Things Grand Opening
The grand opening of Good Things Thrift and Craft Shop’s much anticipated upstairs room is Thursday, Aug. 15. The shop has a selection of quilting fabric, wool, yarn, beads, and crafting supplies; the majority of which was donated from the estate of the late Claire Wingren. The shop also carries toys, linens and books, and more.

Timely Rain Creates Significant Crop Yield for Twin Villages Foodbank Farm
Following three weeks of dry conditions in July, Twin Villages Foodbank Farm welcomed 1.5 inches of rain last week. The well-timed rain was enough to saturate soil and roots, adding thousands of additional pounds to harvest as crops continue to produce robust growth.
