The Saltwater Artists Gallery in New Harbor features six artists who use oil paints, including Beth Badger, of Brunswick; Mary Buergin, of Poland; Caroline Howe, of Bristol; Sue Kibbe, of Southport; Scott White, of Chamberlain; and Carol Wiley, of Newcastle.

All performances to date at the Boothbay Harbor Opera House have sold out, and upcoming performances are likely to dazzle and delight just as much. Audiences are being capped at 50 persons due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Merry Barn Writers’ Retreat is excited to partner with Elizabeth Potter as she offers two sessions of “Writing from the Heart: Finding Your Authentic Voice.” This workshop offers adult writers of all abilities an opportunity to get the creative juices flowing, overcome the internal critic, and let heart and soul flow out onto the page.

The Saltwater Artists Gallery is currently featuring Carol Ast, a pastel artist. She has historically combined art and education, painting landscapes and seascapes and teaching in New York, New Mexico, and Maine.

Brenda Erickson is a watercolor artist who specializes in the illustration of recipes. Because of her love of both still life and cooking, she began painting her own family recipes.

River Arts has launched the debut show of its new gallery in Damariscotta. This premier “Members’ Show” presents original works by 157 artists who have contributed artwork from towns all over the state of Maine.

The Bristol Road Galleries announces it is opening for the 2020 season.  The Bristol Road Galleries is a collaboration of four artists, whose galleries are all within walking distance of each other on the Bristol Road.  They include sculptor Marnie Sinclair, watercolorists Jan Kilburn and Kathleen Horst, and oil painter Will Kefauver.  Each gallery will open in a different manner this year.

 The historic Opera House stage in Boothbay Harbor has been silent since March, but will welcome performers and a limited number of audience members beginning in July. While the first concert featuring The Boneheads on July 3 has already sold out, tickets are currently available for all other July performances, which are described below.

“Support local business now and remember to dream the future” is the two-pronged focus of Heartwood Theater’s annual online raffle, with tickets still available for purchase until July 10.  

Tops’l Farm and the Waldo Theatre are partnering this summer to offer three “Films at the Farm” events. The films include “The Princess Bride” scheduled for July 2 and 3, “Napoleon Dynamite” on July 30 and 31, and “Hidden Figures” on August 6 and 7, as a fundraiser for Black Lives Matter. These outdoor, picnic-blanket “drive-in” events will be held at Tops’l Farm at 365 Bremen Road.
