Celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day by joining Skidompha Library and Leigh Anne Keichline for free in-person and virtual discussions of some of King’s works.

The Waldoboro Public Library is kicking off the New Year with a story hour for children ages two to five ay 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 3. Miss Paula and her sidekick, Cutie Coyote, will read stories and lead activities for an interactive and fun session. Story hours will be held the first Wednesday of every month.

The Damariscotta Region Chamber of Commerce and Information Bureau is gearing up to send three local business leaders into the frigid waters of the Damariscotta River as a fundraiser for the chamber’s capital campaign for the organization’s new building.

The Waldoborough Historical Society is pleased to announce the new owner of the old Waldoboro High School/A.D. Gray Building has offered a pile of bricks from the building to be sold as a fundraiser for the society’s capital campaign project.

A Christmas dinner of ham, macaroni and cheese, and more is provided for free at the Lincoln County Assembly of God, 672 Main St. in Damariscotta.

Feed Our Scholars, the group that supports Wiscasset Elementary School students in need of weekend bags of supplemental food and all students with required school supplies, will hold a bake sale fundraiser at Ames Supply in Wiscasset from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 16. For a donation, visitors can take away delightful, homemade goodies, such as cookies, cakes, pies, breads, and more.

Lincoln County Publishing Co., which publishes The Lincoln County News, is delighted to host the Damariscotta Region Chamber of Commerce and Information Bureau for Business After Hours from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 13.

Hillside Cemetery in Damariscotta, an official Wreaths Across America location, will host a wreath-laying ceremony on Saturday, Dec. 16, joining more than 3,700 other locations across the country for National Wreaths Across America Day.
