The Caterpillar Lab Returns to Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens
For the sixth year running, Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens will host educator and nature photographer Samuel Jaffe and The Caterpillar Lab from Wednesday through Sunday, July 26-30. A perennial favorite, this exhibit will highlight the diversity and ingenuity of some of New England’s most unusual caterpillars.

Fourth of July in Whitefield
For well over three-quarters of a century the homegrown, iconic Whitefield Fourth of July parade has been winding its way down Route 194 in Kings Mills to the turnaround in a neighbor’s driveway where all manner of floats and fire trucks make the turn to end up on Town House Road. This is the only parade attendees get to see twice, in case it’s missed the first time.
17th Century Watercraft at Colonial Pemaquid
From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, July 15-16, visit Colonial Pemaquid State Historic Site to step back in time to the rough-and-tumble world of 17th century Maine. Discover why watercraft such as the Native American birch bark canoe and European shallop were so important to the Wabanaki, English, and French as they traded, negotiated, socialized, and fought with one another.
