Wesley Melvin Waters, known as “Bump” by his closest friends and family, was the son of Homer Waters and Delphine Overlock. He was born on Jan. 29, 1936, and peacefully passed away on Oct. 11, 2024, surrounded by his beloved family. A proud veteran, Wesley served in the Army, demonstrating unwavering dedication to his country. After his military service, he enjoyed a fulfilling career with the United States Postal Service, where he served as postmaster in Winslow Mills and worked as a rural mail carrier in Boothbay and Waldoboro, retiring after many years of hard work.

In the early morning hours of Oct. 10, the world lost a wonderful woman. Janet Regina (Carter) Chase passed away in Portland at the Maine Medical Center, surrounded by family, at the age of 69.

Ronald Stewart McAllister Gilzean, 79, passed away on Oct. 12, 2024, in New Harbor, at home with family by his side. He was born on April 20, 1945, in Bridge of Weir, Scotland, to Louis and Elizabeth (McAllister) Gilzean. Ron was known for his quick wit, caring nature, and remarkable resilience.

Jeanne Wormelle, age 79, of Edgecomb, passed away on Oct. 11, 2024. She was born on Dec. 6, 1944, in Brockton, Mass. She was the daughter of the late Frederick W. Wormelle Jr. and Beatrice Hall Phillips Wormelle. Jeanne grew up on Cape Cod in Falmouth, Mass. then spent many years in Nobleboro, before moving to Sarasota, Fla., and returning back to her home area settling in Edgecomb in 2021.

Allan J. Benner, 83, of New Harbor, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Oct. 10, 2024 at LincolnHealth’s Miles Campus in Damariscotta.

Shawn Wesley Groves, 60, passed away Sunday, Sept. 29, 2024 from early-onset Alzheimer’s. Born June 14, 1964 in Rockland, his parents were Robert Groves, born in Massachusetts, and Julie Groves, born in Maine.

Allen E. Fossett, of Livingston, N.J., passed away on Oct. 12, after a short illness. He was the son of Lloyd and Annette Fossett, and grandson of Richard Fossett, of Bristol. A Navy veteran and avid motorcyclist, Al loved Maine and returning to Walpole yearly.

Pamella Blamey, a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, and dedicated educator, passed away on Oct. 6, 2024, at the Sussman House in Rockport, at the age of 79. Born in New Britain, Conn., on Oct. 23, 1944, to the late Kenneth and Audrey (Verney) Krah, Pamella lived a life full of love, service, and commitment to her family, community, and students.

David W. Bell, of Kennebunk, died Oct. 1, 2024. He was 92.

Florence Mary Budge-Landry, 77, of Harpswell, passed away on Oct. 4, 2024 at home with her loved ones by her side. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Ronald J. Landry, of 38 years.
