Marlene L. Luce, 88, of Waldoboro, passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side on Aug. 13, 2025.

Jane Winne Diefendorf Simonds, of Pemaquid, passed away peacefully Sept. 20, 2024 with family by her side. She was dearly loved by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her cohort and love of her life, Francis Xavier Simonds, her husband of 62 years.

John P. Campbell, age 89, passed away peacefully at home in Rockport, Mass., in the company of his loving partner, Elizabeth Vercoe.

Dana Trafton Hagerthy, 91, passed away on Aug. 6, 2025 in Englewood, Fla. He was born on Oct. 30, 1933 in Ashland, a son of Albert L. and Myrtle “Sally” (Miller) Hagerthy.

Roger Taylor Panek, 86, of Damariscotta, died peacefully at the Sussman House on the morning of Aug. 11, 2025. Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, he attended Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, N.Y. where he studied architecture. He went on to practice architecture in Manhattan, San Francisco, Toronto, and throughout New England, specializing in the preservation and restoration of historic buildings.

Peter Creighton Armstrong, 68, died unexpectedly on Aug. 10, 2025, in his home in Friendship.

Dr. Susan Grace Haines Nilson, of Newcastle, died at home surrounded by her husband and son, on the evening of July 22, 2025, one day after her 52nd wedding anniversary. She was a devoted and dearly beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, friend, and psychiatrist. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Richard Nilson; her son, Noah Nilson, LCSW; her grandson, Abraham Bleviss-Nilson; as well as by her two brothers, John and Peter Haines, their wives; nieces and nephews, and many cherished friends.

Myron Stanley Long, 82, partner of Linda Belisle, died peacefully at the Maine General Medical Center in Augusta on July 28, 2025.

On July 30, 2025, Martha Ann Goodyear Mason passed away peacefully, yet unexpectedly, the very night she returned to her beloved Shipley Point in Christmas Cove. She was just two days shy of her 102nd birthday. Martha was looking forward to the enjoyment of family and friends for the month of August. Her birthday became a celebration of her life with her children, her grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren. All rejoiced in her incredibly long life and her positive spirit. She was known for her lifelong demonstration of kindness and grace, along with her devotion to her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, her husband, and all who came to know her.

Albert Martin Severson, 92, of Waldoboro, passed away Aug. 4, 2025. Albert was born June 14, 1933 in Waldoboro to Andrew Martin Severson and Gertrude Haskell Severson. He grew up in Waldoboro and graduated from Waldoboro High School in 1955.

Elizabeth “Liz” Holly York passed away peacefully on Aug. 3, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. Her courageous battle with cancer was a testament to her strength and bravery, leaving a lasting impact on everyone she met.
