Barbara Hawkins Haupt, born July 12, 1936, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2026 with family by her side.

Maureen A. Cianci, 76, of Waldoboro, died March 10, 2026 at MaineHealth Pen Bay Hospital in Rockport. Maureen was born March 25, 1949 in New Britain, Conn. Maureen graduated from New Britain High School in the class of 1967. She later graduated from Adelphi University on Long Island, N.Y. with a master’s in social work.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Neil E. Rice, aged 90, who departed this life on March 13, 2026 in Damariscotta. Born on April 16, 1935 in Boston, Mass., Neil was the devoted father of Kenneth Rice, of Sharon, Mass., James Rice, of Birmingham, Mich.; beloved husband of the late Harriet J. Rice of nearly 50 years; loving and devoted partner of Ann Baldwin of 20 years, of Walpole; and brother of Stephen Rice, of Westwood, Mass.

Joyce Ervine (Robinson) Sykes, 92, of South Bristol, passed away on Feb. 24, 2026 after a brief illness at Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick. Joyce was born July 31, 1933 to Gwendolyn (Ervine) Robinson and Radcliff Perkins Robinson in Damariscotta. Joyce spent her childhood years with her grandparents, Lora (Brackett) Ervine and William Upton Ervine, in Pemaquid.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Sylvia Frey, 71, of Newcastle. She passed peacefully on the afternoon of Feb. 28, 2026 at her daughter’s home, just three days shy of her and Jack’s 47th wedding anniversary.

June Pauley, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and steadfast friend, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2026 at the age of 77. Born on Sept. 6, 1948 to Merritt and Helmi (Lampinen) Abbott, June was a warm and generous soul who possessed a rare ability to make everyone she met feel cherished.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John G. Flower Sr., who left us peacefully on March 4, 2026 at the age of 63. Born on May 4, 1962 in Camden, John was a cherished son to Donald Walter Flower and Mary Esther (Garey) Flower. He grew up in Warren, where he filled his childhood with adventure and curiosity, eventually graduating from Medomak Valley High School in the class of 1980.

Linwood S. Lessner, 78, passed away on March 3, 2026 at his home in West Gardiner.

Catherine Claire Overkamp passed away at St. George Regional Hospital in St. George, Utah on March 1, 2026, at the age of 86. She was born in Kearny, N.J. to Clara Bell and Nicholas Anthony Baker, of Bloomfield, N.J., on Jan. 21, 1940. Cathy was the widow of Frederick William Overkamp and resided in Hurricane, Utah.

Victor N. Voss went to be with his lord and savior on Feb. 26, 2026 at his home in Waldoboro, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Detroit, Mich. on March 6, 1947. He was predeceased by his infant daughter, Mary Elisabeth; his brother-in-law, Leroy Sheldon; his brother-in-law, Lloyd Streeter; and his parents, Vincent and Ann Voss.

Margaret “Maggie” Craig Chrisman, of Tucson, Ariz., formerly Phoenix, Ariz. and South Bristol, passed away on Feb. 26, 2026 at age 95 after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Norman Hochgraf passed away on Jan. 23, 2026 at MaineHealth Lincoln Hospital in Damariscotta. He was 95. He is survived by his two children, Lee and Scott; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
