Joseph William Griffin, age 89, passed away on the morning of July 26, 2023 at his home in Damariscotta. Born in Damariscotta on Jan. 19, 1934, he was the youngest son of Martha (Tucker) and Ralph Griffin.

Elizabeth R. Wylie, 85, of Boothbay, passed away peacefully on Aug. 4, 2023, with her loving family by her side. Elizabeth was born on June 13, 1938, to parents Leslie and Elizabeth (Day) Main. She grew up in Boothbay and attended local schools.

Mary P. Orff, 99, of Epsom, N.H., the matriarch of the Orff family, passed away at Havenwood Heritage Heights in Concord, N.H., on Saturday, Aug. 5, 2023, in a room bursting with family members from near and far. Born in Chelsea Nov. 8, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Delia (Belida) Maskewich.

Sara J. Oliver, born on May 10, 1938, in Damariscotta, passed away peacefully into the arms of her lord and savior on Aug. 2, 2023, with her family by her side.

Michael Swain Barter died Tuesday, Aug. 1 at 8:01 p.m. Born Feb. 8, 1947 in Beverly, Mass., Mike is now reunited with his parents John and Dorothea Barter, his grandparents, Walter Swain and Julia Henderson Hinchman, and his sister Julia M. Gilliam.

Sharon Reed, 75, passed peacefully on July 15, 2023 with family by her side.

Laura Ellen Sederquist Honey, of Boothbay Harbor, passed away peacefully on Aug. 2, 2023 at LincolnHealth’s Miles Campus, in Damariscotta, after a brief illness. Laura was born April 23, 1934 in Swampscott, Mass., the first daughter of Arthur W. and Laura Banks Sederquist. She moved to Bangor in 1946 and graduated from Bangor High School in 1952. She also attended Husson College.

Charles William Misner – eminent astro-physicist, husband of Susanne Elisabeth Kemp, father of four, and seasonal resident of South Bristol – passed away six weeks after his 91st birthday in Kensington, Md.

Leslie Loraine DuPell (née Lakin) passed away peacefully with family members by her side on July 27, 2023. She was 81.

On Sunday, July 30, 2023, Durwood C. Lewis passed away at age 81.

Larry D. Ross, born on March 5, 1959, in Lincoln County, unexpectedly passed away doing what he enjoyed doing, hiking, on Monday, July 24, 2023 at the age of 64 years old. He was the son of the late George and Nathalie Achorn Ross.
