Kents Hill robbed the Wolverines den for a 47-19 win on Jan. 21 in MVC girls basketball action. Kents Hill was led by 10 points from Lucy McDonald and eight from Logan McDonald. Wiscasset was led by Qiana Hyman with 10 points and Laila Dicus 7.
Cobras Crush the Wolverines
Wiscasset boys basketball team lost 80-19 on a long road trip to Carrabec on Jan. 21. The Cobras were led by Luke Cory with 23 and Bobby Lendon 13. Wiscasset was led by Jevar Garricks with 5, and Dylan Akers and Mason Clark 3 each.
Eagles Double Trouble for Hornets
Lincoln Academy boys and girls basketball teams defeated Leavitt on Jan. 21. The Lady Eagles hosted the Hornets, and won 37-36. Lincoln trailed by seven early in the final period, before rallying for the win. LA sank four of six foul shots in the final two minutes of play to build a four point lead, led by a three for four effort from Natalie Kaler. Gabby Smith hit a 3-pointer for the Hornets with nine seconds remaining.
Erskine Academy Wins KVAC Cheering Title
Erskine Academy won the KVAC Class B cheering championship on Sat., Jan. 21 at the Augusta Civic Center. Erskine scored 60.3 to beat out Leavitt 57.45, Nokomis 54.6, Brewer 51.6, Winslow 49, Morse 46.9. Lawrence 41.85, Waterville- Messalonskee 39.85, Belfast 39.1, Medomak Valley 35.3, Oceanside 31.5, Lincoln Academy 31.4, and Gardiner 25.6.

Gardiner girls basketball team raided the Eagles nest for a 65-26 win over Lincoln Academy on Jan. 19. Tiger Lizzy Gruber scored a triple double with 22 points (11R, 10S) to lead the Tigers. Scoring leaders for Lincoln were Mariam DeLisle with 11, and Natalie Kaler 4.

Medomak Valley boys basketball team raided the Black Bears den for a 70-53 win on Jan. 18. The Panthers pounced on Maranacook early, to take an 18-5 lead at the end of one. The defense of Jaiden Starr and Gabe Lash shut down Black Bear scorer Brayden St.Pierre in the second half, holding him to four points in the final two quarters.

Medomak Girls ‘Pink Out’ Game Postponed again Boys away game postponed, Make-up Wed., Jan. 18
Medomak Valley JV and varsity girls “Paws for a Cause Pink Out” games with Maranacoook, have been postponed. They will be made up on Tuesday, Jan. 17 at Medomak. JV play at 5 p.m. and varsity at 6:30 p.m.
